Lunch With Santa

Lets have Lunch With Santa!

I gathered a few of my Santa's for today's

tablescape, then used them as my

center piece. They are sitting on top of

a wool lap quilt, with lots of reds and

greens woven into the quilt.

Ready for the beach? Rocking the time away until Christmas!

Holding the cookies for ransom!

Oh, my aching feet!

My place setting, a large red charger, red

flatware, red napkin, a Santa salad plate

and lunch plate. The glass has a red rime.

The napkin rings are ornaments off my Santa

tree, found at Cracker Barrel several years ago.

Each one is different, as is each salad plate.

Whites At Christmas

A huge "Thank You" to Susan at

for this weeks "Deck The Halls". Tonight I am showing you a little of the

decorating I have in my family room.

Here is the mantle, I loved the contrast of

the white against the rock wall.

This was my first attempt at making a rag

garland.

White dried hydrangeas.

Magnolias on the wreath.

My tree in this room is just a small one.

It sits on a table covered in white lace, is

decorated with white lights, dried white

hydrangeas and of course all the decorations

are white.

This is my tree topper, a little unconventional

I know. It's just a little white frosted globe

with roses on it, I just thought it worked with

the tree.

It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas!

It's Monday and time for

Metamorphosis Monday at

"Between Naps On The Porch".

So be sure and make a stop at Susan's

for a peak at all the great inspiration,

you are sure find there.

It's been a little crazy here this week.

We lost all power Wednesday afternoon,

and shortly after lost most of our water

pressure. This was a two day event, in

December, not the best time of the year.

All due to a wind storm!

What made it even worse for me was the

fact that we had ordered a shiny new

black refrigerator! Now they delivered it

set it up, polished it before they left at

1:30 pm and the electricity was lost at 1:45 pm.

Now to say that I have been the brunt of allot

of jokes from my friends is an understatement.

But all is well now! I almost lost it though, when

I didn't get to post for Tablescape Thursday!

So onto the Christmas metamorphosis of the

dining room.

This is what it looked like through the fall.

Now, dressed for Christmas.

I carried the fruit theme into my Christmas

decorating using gold and burgundy.

A little Asian chest spilling over with fruit.

A simple plate rack with large gold trays,

gold and burgundy topiary and a grapevine

wreath with gold fruit.

I didn't use a Christmas tree in this room this

year. Instead I did something I had saw in

a hotel lobby. I used clear mini light on my

ficus trees, layered pine cones around the tree,

added gold poinsettias, burgundy and gold ribbon

and gold Christmas tree ornaments.

It's A Small World After All

It's time for Deck The Halls!!

I want to thank Susan for hosting this event.

great eye candy. My post got it's name, because of the

decorations in this room.

This is my living/library/ music room.

Every year I put my largest Christmas

tree in this room, its totally covered in

ornaments made by all three of my

children, grandchildren, antique ornaments,

just a little of everything. I decorate the

whole room with children in mind.

This is where all the gifts will go and

everyone will gather to open them.

It's so nice to go in this room and just

look at the tree.

We have some pretend gifts waiting on the old sled, granny hasn't gotten around to wrapping the real one's, but I will this week!!!! I have had this little music box since my son was a baby. It plays: It's A Small World After All. A Santa bell for the tea tray.

These two magnolia candle sticks were

given to me by my Mother and work

well on the pump organ.

Nature's Metamorphosis and A Mantel

Well Mother Nature was very kind yesterday.

We went from this....

and this..... to This, less than a couple of inches, but soooo beautiful.

Now if you talk to me in February, I won't be thinking this

is so beautiful!

This is the room where my largest tree goes and all the

gifts. Come back tomorrow and I'll show the totally

decorated room.

I have had these nut crackers for years.

I think I have nine large ones,and several smaller ones.

I have six grandchildren remember!!!!

And the stockings were hung...

with care.......
