Welcome

Welcome to our old farmhouse. Over the past year I have learned so much history of this house and the people who lived here. Ninety six years of love, loss, hopes and dreams. Preservation continues and there is always a repair to be done. We are trying to be purest in our preservation as much as we possibly can. I hope you follow along and each week I will try to give you a little history of the house as well as the first owners of the house. I've been lucky enough to find a journal from a Granddaughter who talks about the house as well as her Grandparents. So come follow along and learn about this old house as well as the occupants, old and new.

Plantation Shutters

Remember the plantation shutters I found last fall at the Habitat For Humanity resale store. Well here they are. I only paid $2.50 per shutter. I had plans of cutting them down and fitting them to the lower part of the window. Then I decided to try this look just to be different, and I rather like it.

Anyone sleeping in this room now gets a little privacy but still the natural light still flows into the room.

Triple Duty

After the holidays I decided to let my dining room do triple duty for the winter months. The instruments have been in the room since we moved in, but I decided to add a few books for a library look for the winter months.

A few antique books, some feathers and here is my vignette.

A night view of the opposite side of the room. I used the plate rack to stack a few more books.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures the room is always to dark or to sunny to get a great picture.

Another stack of old books for a wine table.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.
