Welcome

Welcome to our old farmhouse. Over the past year I have learned so much history of this house and the people who lived here. Ninety six years of love, loss, hopes and dreams. Preservation continues and there is always a repair to be done. We are trying to be purest in our preservation as much as we possibly can. I hope you follow along and each week I will try to give you a little history of the house as well as the first owners of the house. I've been lucky enough to find a journal from a Granddaughter who talks about the house as well as her Grandparents. So come follow along and learn about this old house as well as the occupants, old and new.

Pulling The Eye Up

Not much happening here, the weather has gotten a little colder and the pollen is vicious! All the regular irritations that go along with allergies and pollen itchy eyes, sneezing, you know all the fun stuff.
We did manage to get one project finished last week, putting a window back in the house that was taken out many years ago. So now the attic has saw the light of day again. I feel safe in saying the window had been gone for about 50 plus years and I really think it makes a big impact on the look of the house.

Before

After

The octagon window works perfectly with the roof line of the house and the black frame pulls the eye up. Now I'm just waiting on the flowers to bloom and the grass to get greener. I hope to get a good night shot, yes I did put a light in the window.
Now back to work, vegetable, flower gardens and pond to clean out and a new baby chick to add to the flock.
Blessings,
Sandy
