Welcome

Welcome to our old farmhouse. Over the past year I have learned so much history of this house and the people who lived here. Ninety six years of love, loss, hopes and dreams. Preservation continues and there is always a repair to be done. We are trying to be purest in our preservation as much as we possibly can. I hope you follow along and each week I will try to give you a little history of the house as well as the first owners of the house. I've been lucky enough to find a journal from a Granddaughter who talks about the house as well as her Grandparents. So come follow along and learn about this old house as well as the occupants, old and new.

One Table, Three Looks

 Another Thrift Store find.
A great little table I found for the patio. We love
eating out and with the South Carolina being so
great most of the time, we are able to eat breakfast
and dinner outside most days.
But today is play day so lets take a look at it dressed
three different ways.
Desert anyone?

My barnyard friends napkins and a little red!

Feathers and polka dots.
An evening glass of wine.

And as night approaches.

The house hunting hasn't been going all that well.
I've seen five houses in the last two weeks, and none
of them has spoken to me. Same ole story they are
much to small or much to large for just two people.
I'm sorry to say I have witnessed many bad
renovations and I really don't want to go in for a
total gut on a house. So my hunt continues, or I
may have found it already, as you saw in my last post.
I guess I want to feel as though I have explored all
 possibilities.
Thanks for stopping for a visit.

A Thrift Store Ottoman

Missing from action for awhile.
The weather has been beautiful, so a little thrift shopping
was in order. So here was my first score of the season.
Actually I found this last winter at a local thrift store
and got her all ready for spring. After a little black
paint or should I say allot of black paint,( the ole girl
was really white) she works well with the rest of my
wicker.

A few old candles decorated with some old ribbon,
and paper. Of course a girl has to have a rooster.

Most of the pillows are from my other house, but
still work well.

Now I have a question for you.......
How do you think all this would work here?
We have really hit house hunting hard and this is one
 of the contenders!
Gotta love that swing!
Got one on this side toooo!
And a fan on each side to keep you cool!
See the gated courtyard, one on each side of the
house.
Welcome home
Lots of potential. Can't you just see yourself
having coffee out here?

Here is a picture of the dining room. Wonderful old
french doors leading to the other room. Original coal
fireplace and mirror.
Notice the chair rail.
Bead board on the ceiling.
Living room fireplace.
Pocket doors going to the entry hall.
A view into the entry hall from the kitchen hall.
Entry ceiling.
 Love all the woodwork.
One of the bedrooms. A fireplace in every bedroom.
Who can resist a claw foot tub?
 Large kitchen!
A view from the back door to the entry.
Some nice shelves and cabinets next to the hall
entrance to the dining room. Gotta love the little
swinging door just to the left, that of course my maid
would be able to use. Ha Ha
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you will stop by
next week we have six appointments this week. So I
hope to have more great photos next week.
