Just a short little post to show a great thrift store find. I found this beauty (remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder) a few weeks ago. Then the question came, where are you going to use it, and a better question, where are you going to store it? My solution, for now at least.....
Outside of course!
And who could pass up a $35.00 antique mantle?

A couple of ferns and a rocking chair, and your good to go.
As you know we have been house hunting, so here are a few pictures of one of the places we really liked, but it just needed tooooo much work! It had tons of charm!
Great little living room and I adore the french doors going to the dinning room. Wonderful high ceilings.
Not a great picture of the dinning room but I did love the built in china cabinet and fireplace.
Gotta love a front porch!
Thanks for visiting.

Your mantel is wonderful, and so is that house. I'd probably want to buy it, warts and all, because it has so much charm.
The mantel is wonderful! I love the aged patina of the wood.
Beautiful mantel, great buy. I am sure it will find a permanent home soon. I love that house too-to bad it needs so much work.
Using the mantle outside is brilliant. And beautiful.
Your mantel is fabulous and I love the whole space you have created outside. So pretty and what a great place to sit and relax. The house did look charming, hope you find something soon. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
Love the vignette you created with the mantel. Very charming.
I'd be sold on the big front porch and built in cabinet in the dining room...that house has so much possibility.

OmG....you lucky thing! I am on the search for a great mantle and if I found one for $35.00...woohoo! Best of luck with the house hunting. ~
I adore the mantle! I left one at my old house (kicking myself), but truly wouldn't have anywhere to use it here. Hope someone is appreciating it! Good luck with househunting; love the one you looked at!

What a great find! Love how you made it look so perfect outside!
Who could pass that mantel by? It's really interesting in the state it's in but you could easily make it over too if you wanted it inside. Good luck with house hunting. Our 2 and house was 100 years old and was easy to take care of. It was built really well. Each house is different. New can need work in a short time if not built well.

How cute is THIS !! I would have never thought to put it outside but it looks fantastic!
I, too, bought an antique, pine mantel several years ago. I added some wooden appliques, painted it white and it stands at attention in my dining room. The BEST thrift store find I have had. I paid more than you did....$50.00 and well worth it. If you want to see it, email and I will send you a pic. :)
I am now following....Come by to see me. :)
I love the mantel! I really love that you used it outside!! I'm visiting from Table Top Tuesday. ~Erin @ erins2centz.blogspot.com
