Welcome

Welcome to our old farmhouse. Over the past year I have learned so much history of this house and the people who lived here. Ninety six years of love, loss, hopes and dreams. Preservation continues and there is always a repair to be done. We are trying to be purest in our preservation as much as we possibly can. I hope you follow along and each week I will try to give you a little history of the house as well as the first owners of the house. I've been lucky enough to find a journal from a Granddaughter who talks about the house as well as her Grandparents. So come follow along and learn about this old house as well as the occupants, old and new.

Just Coffee

Welcome to one of every one's favorite
days of the week, Tablescape Thursday.
Be sure to make a stop at Susan's
"Between Naps On The Porch"
for some beautiful tablescapes.
I have been changing things a little in the
house. Taking down the Halloween and
putting up more for Thanksgiving, as
you can see on the fireplace mantle.
As I started to put this post together, I
realized the title should have been Just Coffee
And Desert or Chocolate, Chocolate and
More Chocolate. So follow me to see more...
Since my house is in transition, and I'm still trying to figure out what I have for a Thanksgiving tablescape, I decided to do a simple coffee and desert table for two in front of the fireplace. I used a small mirror on the table for the reflection and to hold my desert. The coffee glasses I got at Gab's, four in a package for $2.00. The desert cups are from the thrift store .50 each, the napkins you saw last week and are also from Gab's .50 each, the desert spoons are from TJ Maxx. I used tea light candles on a stand in the fireplace, to lazy to build a fire, and trust me it would feel really good right now, 31 degrees. The gold candle holder on the table is from TJ Maxx, clearance for $1.00 last winter. Hungry? I used chocolate brown material over my tablecloth. We have chocolate velvet coffee topped with whipped cream, chocolate pudding with whipped cream, and chocolate covered mint cookies.
A closer look at the glasses.
Well I hope you enjoyed my chocolate overload.
Please come back and visit again soon.
I don't know about everyone else but I'm
getting so excited about Christmas decorating.
So I have projects planned everyday!
Please don't forget to let me know what you
think, I love hearing from you!
Bye For Now,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
It all looks beautiful, cozy, and warm. I love brown (people look at me strangely if I say it's my favorite color!), and I'd say you're serving just the right amount of chocolate today!
Nicely done.

Your setting beside the fireplace is just beautiful. I love your pretty TJMaxx find of that candle holder.

I think I would rather have this delicious looking pudding & cookies for breakfast...that way, I'd be rarin' to go for the entire day. Just think of what I could get done!! :)
