Cloche Party Time!!!!!

Thanks to Marty at A Stroll Thru Life, we are getting

to party again. Be sure to visit Marty and all of today's

participants for more creativity than you could ever

When I started Fall decorating this year my goal was to

use as much natural material as possible.

In this large container I just started to layer material.

Then it started getting larger and larger as you can see

in the picture, so large the lid did not fit.

Here we go with the layers, on the top you can see

pine cones, gourds...... Another layer down, walnuts and yes that is beans...

Lots and lots of texture.

In the top I added small tree branches.

Next lets move to the kitchen...

A couple TJ Maxx finds on my island.

A jar of pasta with a surprise.

I know this next one should not even be in this post but,

it was sitting on my counter begging to be photographed.

I have used allot of apples this year for some reason, I

suppose because of the bright colors.

My little cake pedestal with a swag of apples and goodies

under the dome.

Where's the wine and cheese?

And here is my Big Lots cloche sitting outside my door,

once aging dressed in apples.

The apples inside are nesting in moss.... Then the apples and moss are nest in a copper bowl.

Resting peacefully in the ivy as it climbs the house

on a cool Fall day.

And last but not least, a candle I have in my living room,

it is nestled in a bed of walnuts, sitting on a brass tray.

Happy Birthday

It's Thursday and that means Tablescape Thursday.

Be sure to hop over to Susan's at

Between Naps On The Porch for a look at her magical

creation and then visit with all the others that are

joining in today's event.

Today I would like to show you the tablescape I did for

a dear friend of mine.

You see it was her Birthday and she was feeling a little

down in the dumps. I won't mention the number,

although I will never see that small number again,

30 for me was a bad day, and when 50 rolled around

I was feeling better about life than I had for years. I

think that I had put allot of things in the place they

should be. Some things in life just aren't worth

worrying about.

So lets start the Party!!!

We had a pink and black party.

I used an antique pink quilt for the tablecloth, pink

balloons and candles.

I have used black place mats with black and white stripped napkins, a TJ Maxx find. Napkin rings are pink beaded. The guest of honors party hat.

Lots of girlie pink candle light.

Pink rose petals.

This was just a busy table.

Our place cards were these little banks that look like

purses, I used two black and two pink.

flatware by Gibson. Pink beaded charms on the glasses.

My standby black dishes, with a treat in the middle.

Smile Kim, It's not that bad and I haven't told that

small magical number! I know your looking!!!!

Comfort food for a cool night.

Creamy potato soup, corn muffins, cheese ball, fresh

baked pear mini tarts and of course coffee or tea.

My Dear I........

Welcome to one of my favorite times of the week

Tablescape Thursday hosted by Susan at

"Between Naps On The Porch".

Please be sure to stop by Susan's and all of the

other wonderful participants in today's party.

My inspiration for today's tablescape came to

me while I was cleaning a bookshelf.

So after getting distracted and not finishing

the shelf I started to shop the house for

what I thought I would need.

So here we go...

Welcome to My Dear I.....

I wish I could care what you do or where you

go, but I can't.

He drew a short breath and said lightly but

softly: " My Dear, I don't give a ......."

I'm going a little Southern today with my tablescapping. Your going to see some magnolias, a sweet grass basket,

and a pineapple to say Welcome.

So Welcome to my dinner table.

We have wine, bread and you will be served some fresh

shrimp on ice in the martini glasses. Fresh fruit if you like. My center piece actually makes its way around the table, starting with the fruit bowl. Than working around to the magnolia candle holders. I used gold candles. Another bottle of wine. Our bread is being served in a hand made sweet grass basket made in Charleston, SC. It was a Christmas gift from DH several years ago. I have antique butter plates on the table.

is a TJ Maxx find, my standby gold salad plate found

at a local store here, another one of my dinner plates

with matching bread plates, I think they are old

diner plates, they are very heavy. I used my gold

flatware, and the gold chargers.

I found these chargers at the local thrift store for .50

each, I have five, six would be nice!

The napkins where also a thrift store find, less than

$2.00 for four.

I used two different wine glasses.

This smaller one I have had for years.

Than a larger one, with grapes on it.

Place cards were made from paper found at Hobby Lobby.

My salt dishes with mother of pearl spoons.

Salt dish from an antique store and the spoons were

a gift from a dear friend.

"I won't think of it now" she said again aloud, trying to

push her misery to the back of her mind, trying to find

some bulwark against the rising tied of pain.

"I'll--why, I'll go home to Tara tomorrow".
